Invitation

Hello!

It is with so much excitement, and a lot of gratitude, that I am reaching out to invite you to the official opening of Studio Planet Daniel.

Studio Planet Daniel is meant to be a cultural hub and testing ground. It will function as a working studio, exhibition space, and a room for collaborative creation and workshops. Most importantly, it is a place where I want artists and audiences to genuinely connect, interact, collide, and build something together.

I believe that human interaction is a key part of building culture.

That is why my practice is an ongoing experiment in how to actually bring people together. I invite artists to showcase their work, but the goal isn't passive observation. The art becomes a tool to spark interaction and an exchange of imaginations.

While this is an independent, self-funded project, I am incredibly grateful for the support of friends and everyone who gave me the opportunity to collect the elements to create this planet. Come witness the landing. I invite you to build on it.

To kick things off, I have curated my very first program, and I would love for you to be there.

What remains of the human when the boundaries between species begin to soften?

Spirit Animals examines human-animal entanglements through myth, science, embodiment and play. In the debut Situation of Studio Planet Daniel, we confront the ‘man at the center of the universe’. In our next step of evolution, will we eventually merge with computers or rather revisit our kinship with animals?

From zoonotic disease research to instinctual movement explorations, Spirit Animals questions the hierarchies that define “human” against “animal” and embraces alternative ways of imagining life beyond the anthropocentric worldview. Everyday behaviours, desires and social rituals could appear strangely shared between us and our different species planetary neighbours.
