Opening  June 19

Studio Planet Daniel is a cultural hub and testing ground located in Broedplaats HW10. It functions as a working studio, exhibition space, and a room for collaborative creation and workshops. Most importantly, it is a place for artists and audiences to connect, interact, collide, and build something together.

I believe that human interaction is a key part of building culture.

That is why my practice is an ongoing experiment in how to actually bring people together. I invite artists to showcase their work, but the goal isn't passive observation. The art becomes a tool to spark interaction and an exchange of imaginations.

I use ludic formats like social simulations, dating sessions, role-play, live radio broadcasts, or surveys to invite audiences to actively engage with the work and with each other.

While this is an independent, self-funded project, I am incredibly grateful for the support of friends and everyone who gave me the opportunity to collect the elements to create this planet.

Come witness the landing. I invite you to build on it.

The Method

Art as a Social Act

I believe that human interaction is a key part of building culture.

My practice is driven by curating active situations. I invite artists to showcase their work, but the art is never just meant to be passively observed, it is a tool to get people interacting.

I use playful, ludic formats like social simulations, dating sessions, role-play, live radio broadcasts, and surveys to invite audiences to actively engage with the work and with each other.

The Space

A 5-Year Experiment

I recently secured this space at the HW10 art incubator in Nieuw-West for an initial five-year phase. Studio Planet Daniel serves as the physical manifestation of my ongoing research and artistic practice.

Right now, the project is entirely independent and self-funded. To sustain the space and keep the experiment running, I design and host specific ticketed public programs, such as workshops and social encounters. This model allows me to establish the studio's cultural value and identity before expanding to approach structural funds.
